Introduction to the Classification of Advanced Classifying Equipment

The classifier or the classification/classifying equipment refers to the device used to separate materials according to different size fractions in the fluid. There are two main types of classification machines: the wet type one with water as its medium and the dry type one (also called air classification machine) with air as its medium. Here we will introduce the concrete classification of the two kinds of classifying machines.

The classification of the wet type classifying equipment:

1. The mechanical type classifier. It includes the spiral classifier, rake classifier and floating tank classifier which discharge sand materials with a special mechanical device.

2. The non-mechanical type classifier. It adopts the principle of separating materials with different particle sizes and sinking speeds and discharging the sand depending on the gravity and centrifugal force. This kind of machines includes the cone hydraulic classifier and hydro-cyclone.

3. Wet type screening and classifying machine. This kind of machines consists of the spinning screen, the vertical drum screen and the shaking screen etc.

The classification of the dry type classifying equipment:

1. Classifier without moving parts. It is a kind of equipment which completes the classifying process according to the sinking law of the material particles. There are sinking box, cyclone dust collector, bag dust collector and venturi dust collector.

2. Classifier with moving parts. This kind of equipment consisting of rotational flow scattering classifier, high speed rotating disc air classifier, turbine air classifier and so on is equipped with the turning wheel and round disc to reinforce the classifying effect. There are
