Failing to Maintain Ball Mills Will Cause Much Trouble

The ball mill is a very common grinding device in the mining industry with a wide range of application. To make full use of the ball mill and to make the expected profit as we want, we need to do well in the maintenance work of the ball mills. If we fail to maintain the ball mill in time and in the proper way, we may feel annoying about the trouble caused by our mistake.

First, the poor quality of the ball mill’s gears will lead to a lot of problems for the users. If the gears are too rough without smooth polishing treatment, they will form a strong stress concentration which will harm the equipment. If the making materials of the gears are not good, the ball mill will work in an abnormal condition. And the machine is easy to be broken.

Facing the above trouble, what we need to do is to guarantee the quality of the manufacturing materials of the gears of the ball mill. We should realize the design importance of the tooth root fillet and increase the precise of the making process in order to make the load distribute well, thus realizing the good comprehensive mechanical performance of the ball mill.

The next mistake we make is the immature heating processing technology. The new tooth root of the ball mill’s gear is not strengthened through the quenching treatment, so it has weak flexure strength. If the quenching level is too low, the gear won’t bear enough loads and is easy to be crushed and transformed.

The measure we need to take to handle the above problem is to develop the delicate heating processing technology. To realize the proper quenching treatment of the gear’s tooth root will strength the bending ability of the gear and prolong the service life of the ball mill.
